September 14, 2005 – East Brunswick defeated Westfield 25-23, 25-23

East Brunswick had to dig deep to overcome a strong Westfield team. East Brunswick scored first on a wicked kill by Anna Chesnakova, but quickly Westfield pulled ahead. Just when it seemed that the Bears did not have a chance, East Brunswick started creeping back into the game. The end of the game was very exciting with some great volleys and impressive kills by both teams. The Bears sprinted to the finish to win 25-23. The second game was almost the same. East Brunswick would pull up close only to fall behind by several points again. The Bears finally tied it up at 22 and again at 23. The game ended when Anna’s shot was blocked, but fell down on the Westfield side of the net, giving the Bears a hard fought victory.

The Junior Varsity lost both of their games.
