November 12, 2005 – GMCT Finals: East Brunswick 2, Woodbridge 1

Top seeded East Brunswick had to battle hard to overcome a determined and physical Woodbridge team. In the end senior captain Kristie Lang came up huge in scoring both of East Brunswick’s goals, the second of which was a game winning shot in overtime. The game did not start out well for the Bears, with Woodbridge taking the offensive and with 14 minutes left in the half, Woodbridge scored. East Brunswick seemed to be inspired by this and took the game down to the Woodbridge end of the field where Casey Caruso, Kristie Lang, Caitlin Wescott and Jessica Campbell kept up the pressure. With 6 minutes left in the half, Kristie Lang scored to even up the game. The second half was scoreless, although both teams had some opportunities. Rachel Penn and Naomi Stahl were all over anyone that tried to move the ball away from the Woodbridge goal and goalie Alyssa Sotomayer made sure nothing got through. In the overtime period, on a corner kick, Kristie Lang stayed out of the crowd on the left side where she got off the winning shot. The entire team poured off the bench to join the pile.
