November 4, 2007 – East Brunswick 2, South Brunswick 1
Greater Middlesex Conference tournament. It was a hard fought victory that rested on an incredible performance by star goalie Zack Stahl who
had 12 saves in the game. At the end of the game, South Brunswick was ruthlessly attacking the East Brunswick goal, but Zack Stahl with help from
the Bears defenders was up to the task. East Brunswick scored first when Evan Brandsdorfer took a throw-in from Chris Fawzy and with defenders on his
back, he fired a cross through the box to Ryan Norland who knocked it in. South Brunswick tied it up in the 48th minute with a score by Zenda. Three
minutes later, East Brunswick scored what turned out to be the winning goal on a header by Chris Fawzy off a long throw in by Jeremy Merkel. After starting
the season 3-3-1 and with 10 new varsity players this season, the Bears kept getting stonger as the season went on and capped it off with a magnificent
victory in the Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament. Congratulations to all.
East Brunswick finished the season at 16-5-1 for the season.
October 26, 2007 – East Brunswick 3, North Brunswick 1
in a driving rain. Someone forgot to tell East Brunswick to be intimidated. Evan Brandsdorfer scored the first goal on a shot from 20 yards out
that bounce in off the far goal post. Just before half, Mike Kholodenko scored on a play set up by a corner kick by Evan Brandsdorfer.
Neither team scored for quite a while in the second half. After two East Brunswick players got hurt in a short succession, Evan Brandsdorfer scored off a
restart. Just before the end of the game, Jeff Peregallo scored for North Brunswick to avoid a shutout. East Brunswick will face South Brunswick
in the Greater Middlesex Conference Finals on Nov. 4th at Woodbridge.
East Brunswick is now 14-5-1 for the season.
October 23, 2007 – Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament – East Brunswick 3, Monroe 1
Monroe jumped out to an early lead with a goal by Garrett Beyar at 11 minutes, but East Brunswick’s Evan Brandsdorfer tied it up with the first of
his two goals by sending a free kick just under the crossbar from 40 yards out. Chris Fawzy scored the go ahead goal at the 46th minute off a long
throw-in by Jeremy Merkel. Evan Bransdorfer scored the final goal with an assist from Chris Fawzy. East Brunswick will take on top seeded and
undefeated North Brunswick in the semi-final game on Friday at Heavenly Farms at 5PM. Good Luck Bears!! East Brunswick is now 13-5-1 for the season.
October 19, 2007 – Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament – East Brunswick 4, Colonia 0
Fourth seeded East Brunswick won their seventh shutout of the year over 16th seeded Colonia.
Evan Brandsdorfer scored two goals and had an assist for East Brunswick. Freshman Joe Russo scored his first goal for East Brunswick by heading the ball.
Senior Chris Hajjar also scored for East Brunswick. Goalie Zack Stahl got another shutout with two saves. East Brunswick is now 12-5-1 for the season.
October 17, 2007 – East Brunswick 4, Sayreville 1
East Brunswick is going to go into the Greater Middlesex Tournament with momentum on their side. The Bears
roared out to a quick 3-0 lead. Mike Kholodenko started the scoring with an assist by Evan Brandsdorfer for East Brunswick.
Rapael Smith then scored with an assist by Chris Hajjar followed by a goal by Mike Friedman. In the second half, Ryan Norland
took a cross volley from Mike Zinberg and scored for East Brunswick from 10 yards out. Travis Mikol and Zack Stahl each had two saves.
East Brunswick is now 11-5-1 for the season.
October 13, 2007 – East Brunswick 1, St. Joseph 0
East Brunswick won an important Greater Middlesex Conference Red Division match by defeating St. Joseph. The Bears scored their only goal
with a head-in by Jeremy Merkle ten minutes into the game. Zack Stahl had 6 saves for the Bears.
East Brunswick is now 10-5-1 for the season.
October 6, 2007 – East Brunswick 3, Edison 2
it wasn’t until the 67th minute when Chris Fawzy put the Bears on top. Just four minutes later, Chris Fawzy scored again to finalize the
scoring. Assists were recorded by Evan Brandsdorfer and Zinberg. Zach Stahl had four saves.
East Brunswick is now 8-4-1 for the season.
October 5, 2007 – East Brunswick 2, Piscataway 0
East Brunswick won their fourth game out of the last five with a shutout over
Piscataway. Evan Brandsdorfer made both goals with the insurance goal coming in
the 79th minute. He was assisted by Ryan Norland and Chris Ramirez. Zach Stahl
only had one save, but it was critical in keeping a 1-0 lead. Zach registered
his fourth shutout of the season. East Brunswick is now 7-4-1 for the season.
October 1, 2007 – Hightstown 2, East Brunswick 1 (OT)
East Brunswick was behind 1-0 with just seven minutes left in the game when Chris Fawzy took a long throw-in from Jeremy Merkel and headed it into the goal.
Unfortunately, Hightstown was able to score in overtime to win the game. Travis Mikol and Zack Stahl each had three assists at goalie for the Bears.
East Brunswick is now 5-4-1 for the season.
September 29, 2007 – East Brunswick 4, J.P. Stevens 1
East Brunswick’s defense played so solidly that J.P. Stevens was only able to take two shots on goal in the entire game.
Scoring for East Brunswick were: Evan Bransdorfer, Chris Hajjar, Raphael Smith, Chris Fawzy.
Mikol had 1 saves at goal for East Brunswick.
East Brunswick is now 5-2-1 for the season.
September 19, 2007 – East Brunswick 2, Old Bridge 1 (OT)
East Brunswick had yet another overtime game, and this time they came out on top against Greater Middlesex Conference Red Division rival Old Bridge.
Evan Bransdorfer kept up his torrid scoring pace with two more goals. Joshua Alvarez provided an assist on one of the goals. Zack Stahl had 5 saves at goal.
East Brunswick is now 3-2-1 for the season.
September 17, 2007: South Brunswick 3, East Brunswick 2 (2OT)
twice in regulation and again in overtime to cap a dramatic come from behind win. Mike Friedman and Evan Bransdorfer scored goals for the Bears.
East Brunswick is now 2-2-1 for the season.
September 15, 2007 – East Brunswick 7, Piscataway 2
East Brunswick had a big day against Greater Middlesex Conference Red Division opponent Piscataway.
Two goals and two assists by Evan Brandsdorfer
set the pace for East Brunswick. Joshua Alvarez also had two goals. East Brunswick’s other goals were
scored by Kholodenko, Smith and Norland. In addition to Evan Brandsdorfer’s two assists,
East Brunswick had two assists from Norland and an assist by Germandano.
Zack Stahl had 11 saves for the Bears.
East Brunswick is now 2-1-1 for the season.
September 10, 2007 – East Brunswick 3, J.P. Stevens 3 (2OT)
East Brunswick could not hold onto a 3-1 lead with just 4 minutes left in the game. David Kornberg and Jon Salazar scored for J.P. Stevens to
send the game into overtime. East Brunswick’s Evan Brandsdorfer scored in the first half and again in the second. Chris Fawzy scored the
other goal for Bears.
East Brunswick is now 1-1-1 for the season.

from Evan Bransdorfer on the way to a 6-0 victory. Chris Hajjar had a goal and an assist for East Brunswick. Goalie Zack Stahl got the shutout.
