October 1, 2005 – East Brunswick defeats Hackensack 25-21, 25-23

East Brunswick looked it wasn’t going to be their day. After losing to Eastern, they got off to a slow start against Hackensack. Despite some crushing kills by Anna Chesnakova, East Brunswick was falling further behind until Kristen Semeniak was substituted in to serve for Marissa Nadeau, one of the best servers on the team. This worked like magic. Kristen served winner after winner until the Bears were in the lead and well on their way to winning the game. The second game was neck and neck the whole game. The Bears however fell behind near the finish trailing 20-23, but they dug deep and scored the final five points to win the game. Great serving by Melissa Favis and some spectacular blocks by Marissa Nadeau helped the Bears gain the victory. East Brunswick is now 11-1 for the season.
