The East Brunswick Bears boys basketball team won Saturday’s non-conference game against West Windsor-Plainsboro South Pirates in South Brunswick by a score of 59-47. The Bears jumped out to a quick 21-10 lead at the end of the first quarter and were still ahead by 30-25 at the half. In the third period, the Pirates out-scored the Bears by two and at the start of the 4th period made a three pointer to tie the score at 37 each. The Bears quickly answered with two three pointers and a pair of foul shots to jump back to an 8 point lead. The Bears stayed in control after that making a string of foul shots at the end to coast to the final score of 59-47. Scoring for East Brunswick were: Alex Fitzgerald (3 points), John McHenry (16 points), Tyler McNamara (4 points), Matt Perel (3 points), Addis Ralph (10 points), Matt Ross (18 points), Mike Vick (5 points). Jonathan Kline scored 24 points for West Windsor-Plainsboro South. With this victory, the East Brunswick Bears are now 4-0 for the season.
