East Brunswick had 4 wrestlers that placed first in their weight classes: Carmen Corona (135), Jason Shelsby (145),
John Parke (152) and Nick Marrone (160). With second place finishes were: Corey Ritchings (119), Tim Ackerman (140) and
Matt Merrigan (171). Ralph Danise (275) placed 3rd and Chris Onryscuk (103) placed 4th.

February 21, 2004, Hillsborough 48, East Brunswick 19

East Brunswick was soundly defeated by a very strong Hillsborough team. Corey Ritchings (119) and Ralph Danise (275) won by forfeit. John Parke (152) and Matt Merrigan (171) won by decision.

February 18, 2004, East Brunswick 30, Christian Brothers Academy 29

In one of the best wrestling matches of all time, the East Brunswick Bears wrestlers (Nick Marrone and Matt Merrigan) won the last two matches by pins to pull off a stunning come from behind win against a very good Christian Brothers Academy team. Scoring pins for East Brunswick were: Cory Ritchings (119), Jason Shelsby (152), Nick Marrone(160) and Matt Merrigan (171). Winning decisions were: Larry Huang (215) and Carmen Corona (130).

February 13, 2004, East Brunswick 65, South River 9

East Brunswick High School wrestlers cruised to victory over a very short handed South River team. East Brunswick wrestlers that won by pins were:
Carmen Corona (130), Jason Shelsby (145), Dave Shuberth (189) and Larry Huang (215). Winning decisions were
Kevin Busund (112) – match stopped due to injury of K. Pereira, Todd Maryott (125),

GMC Tournament

East Brunswick High School wrestlers scored third place overall. Two wrestlers won their weight classes – 130 Carmen Corona and 171 Matt Merrigan.
Placing third were 119 Corey Ritchings, 145 Jason Shelsby, 152 John Parke, and
160 Nick Marrone. Tim Ackerman (140) placed fourth.

East Brunswick High School wrestlers won a squeaker against Woodbridge.

December 27, 2003, North Brunswick Tournament

East Brunswick Bears dominated the North Brunswick Tournament earning 190 points – 80 more than the second place Bishop Ahr of Edison.

Corey Ritchings (125) bumped up from (119), Jason Shelsby (145), Nick Marrone (160) and Matt Merrigan (171) all placed first in their weight classes.
David Ruffner (189) – wrestling up from his normal weight class of 171 placed second. Tony Oljiel (215) and Steve DeFilippo (275) also placed second. Chris Onyrscuk (103), Mike Corona (119) and John Parke (152) came in third place.

December 19, 2003, Neptune Tournament

The Neptune tournament attracts some of the best teams in the state. East Brunswick placed 6th place overall. Tim Ackerman (140 lbs), Jason Shelsby(145 lbs), and Matt Merrigan(171 lbs) all took third, while Corey Ritchings (119 lbs) place fourth.
