October 28, 2005 – South Brunswick 34, East Brunswick 14
East Brunswick just could not stop Vince Davidson of South Brunswick. He ran for 203 yards in 23 carries. While many fans were waiting in a long line to enter the stadium, Davidson had already scored a touchdown. With two minutes left in the first quarter Joe Clancy pushed South Brunswick’s advantage to 13. Two more Vince Davidson’s touchdowns brought the score to 27-0 at half. The band put on a wonderful half time show and the homecoming court was presented. The second half wasn’t much better with Davidson extending South Brunswick’s lead to 34-0. The Bears offense finally came to life and Randall Nixon tossed a pass to Joseph Peterson to put the Bears on the board. When James McCluskey intercepted the ball, the Bears were able to quickly strike again. Sergio Garcia caught a nice pass and drove down inside the 10. It took the Bears 4 plays and some head scratching by the officials, but Sergio Garcia’s 4th down carry was ruled a touchdown to put the Bears within 20. The Bears then recovered an onside kick and promptly drove down to the Vikings 10, but after South Brunswick intercepted the ball, they pounded out the rest of the game by handing off to Vince Davidson. With this loss, East Brunswick is now 2-5 for the season.
