October 7, 2005 – Sayreville 21, East Brunswick 0
East Brunswick had a tough time against a strong Sayreville team. Sayreville scored their first touchdown about 8 minutes into the first period. A few minutes later, the Bears punted only to have the kick returned for a touchdown. The Bears then settled down and started playing Sayreville tough. When James McCluskey intercepted a pass to stop a Sayreville drive, it looked like the Bears were finally getting something going, but when the drive stalled with a holding penalty, the Bears seemed to lose momentum. After Sayreville increased the lead to 21, the Bears made it down to the 5 yard line after a long run, but were not able to score. With this loss, East Brunswick is now 2-3 for the season.
