EAST BRUNSWICK – Time was a ticking on the East Brunswick High girls soccer team not just to deliver coach Kevin Brady his 300th win, but to advance in the Greater Middlesex Conference tournament.
But senior forward Sydney Rosa came through with her 17th goal in the 60th minute of the game defending county champs went on to beat Monroe 1-0 at Dolan Field.
The scene thereafter was about celebrating a popular coach, who didn’t talk much about reaching the milestone with his team. He talked to them in the post-game huddle about what they had done well, and what needed to be done better. When one of his players mentioned No. 300 Brady got back to the basics.
