East Brunswick won their season home opener against Edison with great support from the ‘Bear Den’. Early in the game, Kevin Hemmings threw a 36 yard touchdown pass to Sean O’Sullivan to put East Brunswick up by 7 after the extra point. Edison drove down the field and scored on a 3 yard run by Haaziq Daniels to tie the game, but their happiness was short lived when Brandon Tomori raced 90+ yards on the ensuing kickoff for a touchdown. The Bears went into half time with a 14-7 lead. In the third quarter, Edison scored again on a 16 yard run by Andre Yates, but East Brunswick blocked the extra point which turned out to be the margin of victory.
