OLD BRIDGE – Despite running only 11 first half plays from scrimmage, the Old Bridge High School football team was largely in control of things on Thanksgiving morning at Lombardi Field on Thursday.
The Knights scored on five plays on their first drive, three plays on their second, and then had an interception return touchdown to halt the Bears’ following offensive possession as Old Bridge went on to win the “Battle of Route 18” 40-9 as they now lead the all-time series 21-3.
Senior running back Chris Crossman was named the Old Bridge offensive MVP and senior defensive back Chris Solomon was named the Old Bridge defensive MVP, presented by Old Bridge Police Department, PBA #127.
Kevin Hemmings was named the East Brunswick offensive MVP and Sean O’Sullivan was named the East Brunswick defensive MVP, presented by Spadafino Chiropractic.
