October 25, 2006 – GMCT Quarter Finals – South Brunswick 2, East Brunswick 1 (OT)

East Brunswick was seeded number 5 and they were playing a South Brunswick team that was seeded number 4. The game proved to be as even as those rankings would suggest, with South Brunswick just nipping the Bears 7-6 in a penalty kick shout out. During the game, East Brunswick had shots that hit the cross bar three times and had a 9-3 lead in shots, but the only goal they got was from Brad Reiner on a penalty kick. This looked like it might be enough, but with six minutes left in the game, Troy Confesore score a goal for South Brunswick to force overtime. East Brunswick is now 11-6-2 for the season.

October 23, 2006 – East Brunswick 4, South Plainfield 0

East Brunswick powered past South Plainfiel in the second round of the Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament. Senior midfielder Brett Handleman scored a goal and had two assists. Junior forward Evan Brandsdorfer had a goal and an assist. Rob Campos and Jeremy Merkel scored the other two goals. Zack Stahl had three saves for the Bears. East Brunswick is now 11-5-2 for the season.

October 19, 2006 – East Brunswick 1, Sayreville 1

East Brunswick struggled to a draw against Sayreville. The Bears scored first with a goal by Corey Diamond in the first half, but Lamin Sidibeh tied up the game for Sayreville at the 41 minute mark. East Brunswick is now 10-5-2 for the season.

October 16, 2006 – East Brunswick 5, Highland Park 1

East Brunswick had another strong performance as they head toward post season play. Rob Campos scored two goals for East Brunswick. Josh Alvarez, Evan Brandsdorfer and Brett Handleman each scored a goal for the Bears. East Brunswick is now 10-5-1 for the season.

October 14, 2006 – St. Joseph 3, East Brunswick 2

Despite two goals by Evan Brandsdorfer, East Brunswick could not pull off the victory against S. Joseph. Fawzy and Rob Campos provided assists.Zack Stahl had six saves for the Bears. East Brunswick is now 9-5-1 for the season.

October 13, 2006 – East Brunswick 6, Old Bridge 2

East Brunswick moved up into second place in the Greater Middlesex Conference Red Division standings with a victory over Old Bridge. East Brunswick Brett Handleman scored two goals. Brad Reiner, Josh Alvarez, Evan Brandsdorfer and Jeremy Merkel also scored for East Brunswick. Brett Handleman and Corey Diamond had assists for the Bears. East Brunswick is now 9-4-1 for the season.

October 10, 2006 – East Brunswick 3, South Brunswick 2

East Brunswick made a tremendous comeback in the second half to overcome a 2-0 halftime gap. Evan Brandsdorfer scored the game winning goal in the 76th minute with an assist from Brad Reiner. Corey Diamond and Mike Morgan scored the other two goals for the Bears. East Brunswick is now 8-4-1 for the season.

October 6, 2006 – East Brunswick 2, Piscataway 1

East Brunswick pulled out to a 2-0 lead with two goals from Mike Morgan, both off headers. Brad Reiner assisted on the first goal and Evan Brandsdorfer on the second. Piscataway’s Javier Siojo scored, but it was not enough to close the gap. East Brunswick is now 7-4-1 for the season.

October 4, 2006 – Edison 4, East Brunswick 3

East Brunswick was shocked by a surging Edison team that has won 4 straight in the Greater Middlesex Conference Red Division. East Brunswick fell behind 4-2 in the first half and despite Rob Campos scoring his second goal for the day, the Bears could not pull even with Edison. Evan Brandsdorfer scored the other goal for East Brunswick. Zack Stahl had six saves for the Bears. East Brunswick is now 6-4-1 for the season.

September 30, 2006 – East Brunswick 2, J.P. Stevens 0

East Brunswick scored quickly when Corey Diamond fired in a feed from Brett Handleman. In the second half, Robert Campos added on an insurance goal. Zack Stahl had three saves for the Bears. East Brunswick is now 6-3-1 for the season.

September 28, 2006 – St. Joseph 1, East Brunswick 0 (OT)

Rob Allen scored for St. Joseph one minute into the overtime period. Zack Stahl had eight saves for the Bears. East Brunswick is now 5-3-1 for the season.

September 25, 2006 – East Brunswick 2, Westfield 1 (OT)

Jeremy Merkel scored the winning goal with 1 minute remaining in the first overtime. Evan Brandsdorfer scored the first goal of the game for East Brunswick at the 27 minute mark, off a feed from Jeremy Merkel. Keeper Zack Stahl had four saves for the Bears. East Brunswick is now 5-2-1 for the season.

September 21, 2006 – East Brunswick 2, Old Bridge 2

East Brunswick fell behind Old Bridge 2-0 in the first half. In the second half, although they were out shooting Old Bridge, they couldn’t get anything past Bruno of Old Bridge. Finally, Evan Brandsdorfer scored at the 53rd minute. Mike Morgan of East Brunswick forced overtime when in the final seconds of Injury time at the end of regulation, he scored a goal. September 19, 2005 – South Brunswick 1, East Brunswick 0

East Brunswick outshot South Brunswick 21-10, but when Troy Confessore scored from eight yards out in the 18th minute for South Brunswick, that proved to be the decisive moment. Zack Stahl had four saves for the Bears. East Brunswick is now 4-2 for the season.

September 16, 2005 – East Brunswick 3, Piscataway 2

Rapael Smith scored the first goal for East Brunswick just nine minutes into the game. Rob Campos scored another goal for the Bears in the 57th minute. With the score tied at 2-2, Corey Diamond scored off a cross from Mike Morgan to provide the game winner. East Brunswick is now 4-1 for the season.

September 13, 2005 – East Brunswick 3, Edison 1

East Brunswick scored a goal in the first half when Corey Diamond scored off a pass from Rob Campos. At the 47 minute mark, Edison tied the game when Leandro Garay scored on a feed from Albert Rivera. Two minutes later East Brunswick regained the lead with a score by Rob Campos. Later Evan Brandsdorfer added the final point for the Bears. East Brunswick goalie Mikol had 2 saves. East Brunswick is now 3-1 for the season.

September 11, 2006 – East Brunswick 2, J.P. Stevens 1

East Brunswick fell behind J.P. Stevens in the first half, when Mic Samaroo of J.P. Stevens scored. East Brunswick tied the game up when Raphael Smith scored on a feed from Brett Handleman. September 9, 2005 – Voorhees 3, East Brunswick 0

East Brunswick was pumped up after an impressive victory against Scotch Plains, but Voorhees proved to be too much for the Bears. Voorhees out shot the Bears 13-3. East Brunswick goalie Zack Stahl had 8 saves. East Brunswick is now 1-1 for the season.

September 8, 2005 – East Brunswick 2, Scotch Plains 1

East Brunswick got a tremendous victory against a nationally ranked Scotch Plains team in Scotch Plains for the season opener. East Brunswick scored first in the 31st minute, with a header for a goal by Mike Morgan of a cross by Raphael Smith. The Bears later made it a 2-0 game when Brad Reiner spotted Evan Brandsdorfer behind the defenders and was able to loft the ball to him. Brandsdorfer flicked the ball over the charging goaling to score what turned out to be the winning goal. Brian Meredith was able to score off a penalty kick with 6:30 left in the game, but the Bears held on to win the contest. East Brunswick goalie Zack Stahl had 5 saves. East Brunswick is now 1-0 for the season.
