February 12, 2007 – Spotswood 41, East Brunswick 36

East Brunswick suffered a disappointing loss to underdog Spotswood, coached by Kevin Brady who both teaches at
East Brunswick High School and coached both the girls varsity softball and girls varsity soccer teams to GMC Championships.
East Brunswick was ahead 24-20 at the half, but could not hold on.
Breanne DeFalco was the leading scorer for East Brunswick with
eight points.

February 8, 2007 – Piscataway 57, East Brunswick 27

East Brunswick could not keep up with the second ranked Piscatawy Chiefs. The Bears were down 21-8 at the end of the
first period and fell further behind as the game progressed. Breanne DeFalco was the leading scorer for East Brunswick with
eight points.

East Brunswick fell behind early and were never able to recover. Down 25-13 at the half, the Bears played even in the second half,
but could not get closer than 9 points.

Tara Romancino scored a team high and personal season high 13 points for the Bears. East Brunswick kept the game close throughout the first half, but the third quarter was not good for East Brunswick with a 22-2 run by Cardinal McCarrick.

East Brunswick fell behind quickly against a strong South Brunswick team, trailing 36-17 at the half. Breanne DeFalco was the top scorer for East Brunswick with 10 points.

January 30, 2007 – East Brunswick 39, Edison 33

East Brunswick had a thrilling come from behind win over Edison, fueled by 10 fourth quarter points by senior
Breanne DeFalco. This young Bears team is getting stronger as the season wears on, winning a second straight game and avenging a 58-45
loss to Edision earlier this season.

Tara Romancino (3 points), Dana Pagliuco (2 points) and Jenn Schellenberg (2 points).

January 27, 2007 – East Brunswick 50, Sayreville 46

East Brunswick won a hard fought battle against Sayreville in front of their home crowd. The Bears got off to a fast start and were
ahead 14-8 at the end of the first period. The extended the lead to 20-10 when Sayreville went on a three pointer spree and despite
a three pointer by Breanne DeFalco, Sayreville managed to tie the score up at 23-23 at the half. Sayreville looked like they were going
to start up where they left off, but after they landed a quick three pointer, the Bears answered with a basket followed by a three pointer
to take the lead 28-26. At the end of the third period, the score was 33-30. East Brunswick opened up the lead with some fine shooting
and good defense and looked like they were going to cruise on to victory, but Sayreville had other ideas. Sayreville utilized quick fouls
and some good rebounding to get themselves back into the game. Fortunately for East Brunswick, Monnica Farag and Breanne DeFalco made enough
of their foul shots to protect the lead and clinch a 50-46 victory.
Scoring for East Brunswick were:
Breanne DeFalco (15 points), Dana Pagliuco (4 points), Monnica Farag (8 points), Katie Paige (3 points),
Jenn Schellenberg (2 points), Samantha Ur (8 points) and Tara Romancino (10 points).

East Brunswick fell behind quickly and despite a strong showing in the second period, were never able to challenge Perth Amboy.

January 22, 2007 – J.P. Stevens 44, East Brunswick 37

East Brunswick kept the game close and was only down by 4 at the half, however a surge by J.P. Stevens in the 3rd period, put the
game out of reach. Breanne DeFalco scored 18 points for East Brunswick including four 3 point shots.

Breanne DeFalco (18 points), Dana Pagliuco (2 points), Monnica Farag (7 points), Katie Paige (4 points) and

January 20, 2007 – South Plainfield 45, East Brunswick 15

East Brunswick was over-matched against a strong 10-1 South Plainfield team. Breanne DeFalco scored 9 points for East Brunswick.

January 18, 2007 – East Brunswick 36, Old Bridge 34

East Brunswick won an overtime victory against Old Bridge in a Greater Middlesex Conference Red Division match.
The Bears quickly fell behind 9-1 before they settled in to their grove. At the half, East Brunswick was down by six with the score 19-13.
After the half time honoring of the Greater Middlesex Conference championship teams – Girls Soccer and Girls Volleyball, East Brunswick came out
ready to play in the second half. Breanne DeFalco fired in a three pointer to cut the gap in half. For the rest of the game, it was close.
East Brunswick finally took the lead at the end of the third period, but as the clock wound down in the fourth period, East Brunswick was down
by 3. With sixteen seconds left, East Brunswick inbounded the ball and Breanne DeFalco attempted a three point shot. She missed, but the Bears
got the rebound. After a missed layup attempt, the got the ball back to Breanne who tried again. She missed again, but her team got the rebound
and gave her another chance – she fired with one second left on the clock and swished it to send the game into overtime. In overtime, East Brunswick
again fell behind, but struggle back and went up by 2 with six second left. Old Bridge had another shot or two, but they were unable to convert.
Scoring for East Brunswick were:
Breanne DeFalco (23 points), Dana Pagliuco (6 points), Monnica Farag (2 points), Katie Paige (1 point)
and Samantha Ur (4 points).
East Brunswick is now 4-8 for the season.

January 15, 2007 – Piscataway 62, East Brunswick 34

East Brunswick played tough against a highly ranked Piscataway team. East Brunswick trailed by only 4 at the half and was still only 6 points behind at the end of the third period. Piscataway, however surged ahead to end any chance of a comeback with a 25-3 fourth period.
Scoring for East Brunswick were:
Breanne DeFalco (10 points), Dana Pagliuco (4 points), Monnica Farag (5 points), Katie Paige (2 point),
Jenn Schellenberg (2 points), Samantha Ur (4 points) and Tara Romancino (7 points). The Bears are 3-8 for the season.

January 11, 2007 – East Brunswick 49, Woodbridge 45

Breanne DeFalco scored a season high 28 points to help lead East Brunswick to a Greater Middlesex Conference Red Division victory over Woodbridge. DeFalco landed a two point jumper to give East Brunswick a two point lead with less than two minutes remaining. She then wrapped things up by stealing an inbound pass and making a layup to end the scoring.

East Brunswick could not keep up with South Brunswick, falling behind 23-12 at the half. Dana Pagliuco was the top scorer for the Bears with 12 points, followed by Breanne DeFalco with 11 and Samantha Ur with 10.

East Brunswick won their consolation match in the War of the Worlds tournament against Long Brance. Once again
Breanne DeFalco was the star, scoring 19 points including 3 three point shots. East Brunswick was only ahead by
two at the half, but surged forward in the third period with a 18-6 effort.

East Brunswick had a tough time stopping Bishop Ahr which had three girls in double digits. Breanne DeFalco was the top scorer for

Despite a strong effort by Breanne DeFalco who scored 13 for East Brunswick, the Bears were no match for
Hillsborough who pulled out to a 14 point lead in the first period and 25 at the half.

East Brunswick was ahead 14-12 at the half against Colonia, but could not keep Colonia
contained in the second half. East Brunswick was only able to make 3 of 12 points from the foul line.

managed to score 20 in the second half, but still were outscored by Perth Amboy.

East Brunswick had a really tough
night against a strong J.P. Stevens team. The Bears fell behind 20-0 before they
were able to score two foul shots to get on the board. Thanks to a last second
shot at the end of the half, East Brunswick was down 26-8 at the break. East
Brunswick played the second half pretty even, but were never able challenge the
Hawks. Scoring for East Brunswick were:
Breanne DeFalco (2 points), Pagliuco (4 points), Jenn Schellenberg (4 points), Tara Romancino (4 points),
Arielle Lodish (6 points) and Petriello (2 points).
With the loss, East Brunswick moves to 1-1 for the season.

East Brunswick played to a 15-10 halftime advantage and won the season opener by a narrow 28-25 margin,
leveraging 17 points from senior forward Breanne DeFalco, the only returning letter winner on this young team.
